Ordnance Industry System: It has successively passed through the Fifth Ministry of Machinery Industry, Ordnance Industry, the State Council Ministry of Machinery Industry (merged with the Ministry of Machinery Industry), Machinery and Electronics Industry Department (merged with the Ministry of Electronics Industry) and China Ordnance Industry Corporation. 1999 On the basis of the former China Ordnance Industry Corporation, it became China Ordnance Industry Corporation (the largest conventional weapons production enterprise group in China) and China Ordnance Equipment Corporation (the second largest conventional weapons production enterprise group and the largest motorcycle production enterprise group in China). The original seven universities, except Beijing Institute of Technology and Nanjing University of Science and Technology, are directly under the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and the rest are managed by provinces and municipalities directly under the Central Government.
