Dongfang Electronics1957 set up a factory on May 6th and started as a film machine. Since its establishment, the company has developed slide projector, hand generator, microwave amplitude stabilizer, photoelectric input machine and other products. 1975 developed a computer-aided equipment-photoelectric input machine. 1980 successfully launched a rocket into the Pacific Ocean in May, and won the first national quality award of China computer industry. RDG-7 and RDG-8 photoelectric input machines successfully launched launch vehicles in China in June 1982+00, and were commended by the Central Committee, the Central Military Commission and the State Council. Since 1982, the company has cooperated with Shandong University of Technology to develop the first microcomputer electric power telecontrol equipment in China, and the enterprise has entered the field of power system automation.

After more than 50 years of development, the company has owned 18 ownership enterprises, including a listed company with total assets of 2.2 billion yuan. There are more than 3,300 employees, of which 70.43% have bachelor degree or above.
