What is rare earth silicon-magnesium alloy and what is its use?

Rare earth silicon magnesium alloy nodulizer for casting. Its function is to spheroidize the graphite in the cast molten iron, thus improving the properties of the castings. Main ingredients: magnesium, a small amount of rare earth, silicon and a small amount of calcium and barium. Among them, magnesium plays a major role in spheroidization. Magnesium in rare earth silicon-magnesium alloy can be divided into effective magnesium and ineffective magnesium, only free magnesium (metallic state) is effective magnesium, and magnesium oxide produced by magnesium combustion in the production of nodulizer is ineffective magnesium.
