On August 19, 2004, Amazon announced the acquisition of Lei Jun and Joyo founded by Chennian for $75 million, and incorporated Joyo into a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amazon China, combining Amazon's world-leading online retail expertise with Joyo's profound market experience in China, further enhancing the customer experience and promoting the growth of e-commerce in China. In 2007, its China subsidiary was renamed Zhuo Yue Amazon. 201110/On October 27th, Amazon officially announced that it had renamed its China subsidiary "Zhuo Yue Amazon" as "Amazon China" and launched the domain name (Z) for short.
