Introduction: 1980 Taiping reinsurance (formerly known as China reinsurance (hk) co., ltd.) was established with a registered capital of hk $5 million. Its shareholders are Hong Kong Min 'an, China Insurance and former Taiping Insurance. 1999, China People's Insurance Company ("China PICC") transferred the equity of Taiping Reinsurance to China Taiping Group. In 2007, the company changed its name to China International Reinsurance Co., Ltd. and was officially approved by China Insurance Regulatory Commission as China Reinsurance Company. The registered capital and paid-in capital increased to HK$ 3 billion and HK$ 6,543,806 billion respectively. In 2009, the company name was changed from China International Reinsurance Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Re International") to Taiping Reinsurance Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Taiping Reinsurance").
