Raytheon company was founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts on 1922, then called "American Instruments Company", which was co-founded by Lawrence K. Marshall, his college classmate Wan Nivard Bush and young scientist Charles G. Smith. At first, the company mainly engaged in refrigerator business. After the failure, he turned to produce Raytheon brand electron tubes and achieved great success. 1925, the company officially changed its name to "Raytheon Manufacturing Company". Ray comes from French, which means "a beam of light"; Theon comes from Greek, which means "from God". Therefore, Raytheon means "a beam from God", and there are Chinese translations of "Raytheon", "Thunder" and "Schilling". After more than 80 years of development and innovation, Raytheon has become a leader in military technology, government and commercial electronic technology, commercial aircraft and special mission aircraft.
