Labor remuneration involves the vital interests of workers, and the wage standard agreed by both parties in the labor contract is legally binding. Without consultation with the workers, the employer can't lower the wage standard of the workers at will. Moreover, many workers' wage standards need a certain length of service to gradually form. If willfulness is reduced, it will seriously damage the legitimate rights and interests of workers. From a practical point of view, labor remuneration is the core rights and interests of workers. Except for operational difficulties, the employer must negotiate with the workers to reduce wages, otherwise it may be regarded as wage deduction. On this basis, employees can resign and ask the employer for economic compensation.
Legal basis: Article 47 of the Labor Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the state implements the minimum wage guarantee system, and the employer independently determines the wage distribution and wage level of the unit according to the production and operation characteristics and economic benefits of the unit.
