Development and evolution of European missile groups

The initiative to jointly form a European missile group first began in 1996. When EADS (European Aerospace Defense Group), Matera Defense Company and BAE Power Systems Company merged to form Matera BAE Power Systems Company (MBD), the latter owned half of the missile design and manufacturing business of Matera Lachout Technology Company, the latter was merged into French Aerospace, and the other half was owned by French Aerospace-Matera Missile Company (AMM), which merged on 1999. In July 2000, after EADS was established as a Franco-German joint venture aerospace and defense company, the French Aerospace-Matra Missile Company became a part of EADS, mainly developing civil/military aircraft, missiles and rocket systems.

BAE as early as 1998, GEC- Marconi Radar and Defense Systems Company merged with Alenia Lenya S.P.A, which is mainly engaged in avionics systems and equipment, weapon systems, radar systems and offshore and underwater systems, and the missile and radar systems business owned by the two companies was reorganized into Lenya Marconi Systems Company (AMS) 65438. Fenmei Carnica Group is a famous Italian group company, which mainly designs and manufactures airplanes, helicopters, satellites, missiles and radars. It owns two important core companies, Lenya Aerospace and agusta, whose total output value accounts for 70% of the total output value of Italy's defense industry. Lenya Marconi Systems is a joint venture between Fenmei Carnica Group and BAE.

200165438+February, Matera BAE Power Systems Company and Lenya Marconi Systems Company completed the merger, and the embryonic form of European missile group was announced. In June 2005, German LFK Company, the defense and security system department of EADS, announced its merger with MBDA, and was established as "MBDA Germany Company" in March 2006. At this time, the reorganization of the European missile group was officially announced. Undoubtedly, such reorganization and merger are very important for the development of European defense industry. All the manufacturers involved in the merger have rich successful experience in national defense system, technology and operations in the past decades (even hundreds of years), so the reorganized MDBA has unparalleled national defense technology and product range, especially in the field of missile weapon systems of the three services, which will be even more unshakable.
