Circuit breakers can be used to distribute electric energy, not always start asynchronous motors, protect power supply lines and motors, and automatically cut off circuits in case of serious faults such as overload, short circuit and undervoltage. Their functions are equivalent to the combination of fuse switches and overheating and underheating relays. Fuse, also known as fuse, is an electrical component installed in the circuit to ensure the safe operation of the circuit. Fuse is actually a short-circuit protector, which is widely used in distribution system and control system, mainly for short-circuit protection or serious overload protection. * * * Similarity: Both of them are circuit protection appliances, which are used to realize overload and short circuit protection of circuit breakers.
Variance 1:
The protection mode of circuit breaker is tripping, and it is convenient to close and restore power supply after fault removal;
The protection mode of fuse is fusing, so it is not convenient to replace the melt to restore power supply after troubleshooting.
Difference 2:
The tripping speed of circuit breaker is millisecond (ms), which is relatively slow and not suitable for some occasions requiring high breaking speed.
The fusing speed of fuse is microsecond (μs) level, which is much faster than that of circuit breaker, and it is suitable for occasions requiring quick breaking.
There are many differences between the others. These two are simple and important.
