(1) Basic research on the processing of toxic traditional Chinese medicine represented by nux vomica.
He has devoted himself to the research of Semen Strychni for more than 20 years, and received 4 grants from the National Natural Science Foundation. The chemical composition, activity, toxicity and processing mechanism of nux vomica were systematically, comprehensively and deeply studied. Not only 26 compounds (including 6 new compounds) were isolated, but also a series of new arguments were expounded that the processing mechanism of Semen Strychni was mainly to reduce toxicity by changing alkaloid structure, and the relationship between total alkaloid content and toxicity was not linear. The processing mechanism of nux vomica was expounded from the cellular and molecular levels, which filled the blank in the research field of traditional Chinese medicine processing. Published 42 research papers on Semen Strychni. The first person who completed the research on Semen Strychni won six national, ministerial and provincial awards, including the second prize of state administration of traditional chinese medicine and the third prize of national scientific and technological progress. Among them, the third prize of national scientific and technological progress is the highest single prize in the field of Chinese medicine processing in China history so far. It has played a demonstration role in the study of the processing mechanism of toxic Chinese medicine. In addition, toxic traditional Chinese medicines such as Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii, Radix Aconiti, Rhizoma Pinelliae, Radix Euphorbiae fischerianae, Radix Phytolaccae and Garcinia cambogia have also been thoroughly and systematically studied, forming the characteristics of national key discipline construction.
(2) Study on standardization of processing technology and quality standard of Chinese herbal pieces.
200 1, as one of the chief experts, presided over the major project of "Standardization Research on 30 Kinds of Chinese Herbal Pieces" of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and as the leader of the Southern Film, undertook the research on 10 kinds of Chinese Herbal Pieces, such as yam, Schizonepeta and zedoary. In 2003, as the chief expert, he presided over the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" major scientific research project "Study on Standardization of Processing and Quality Standards of Chinese Herbal Pieces". There are 19 universities, scientific research institutes and 16 pharmaceutical and decoction pieces production enterprises in China, and more than 300 people have studied 50 sub-topics such as lily, which is the national key scientific and technological project with the largest number of participants in the field of Chinese herbal medicine processing since the founding of the People's Republic of China.
In 2008, he presided over the unified processing research of 327 samples used in the revision of the standard of Chinese herbal pieces in China Pharmacopoeia (version 20 10), which played a decisive role in ensuring the standardization, representativeness and traceability of the samples used in the drafting of the quality standard of Chinese herbal pieces. SOP for the processing of 327 kinds of Chinese herbal pieces was formulated for the first time, and the task of drafting quality standards for 33 kinds of Chinese herbal pieces was presided over, which laid a solid foundation for China Pharmacopoeia (20 10 edition) to list Chinese herbal pieces separately and formally promulgate the national standards for Chinese herbal pieces.
(3) The key technology of quality control of traditional Chinese medicine-the study of fingerprint of traditional Chinese medicine.
The key technology of quality control of traditional Chinese medicine —— the fingerprint research technology of traditional Chinese medicine was made into a science and education film by CCTV, which had a great influence in related fields at home and abroad after being broadcast in the column of Light of Science and Technology. Based on the research results of fingerprints of 44 commonly used Chinese herbal medicines such as ginseng, the HPLC fingerprint determination technology of commonly used Chinese herbal medicines was compiled, with 87 fingerprints attached. Following the publication of the Chinese version, the English version will be distributed to the whole world by Singapore World Science Publishing Co., Ltd. ... Fingerprint technology is a recognized quality control technology at home and abroad, which is used to guide the selection of Chinese herbal medicines, collection and processing of origin, quality control in the processing of Chinese herbal medicines, formulation and standardized production of Chinese herbal pieces, and quality control in the preparation of Chinese herbal medicines.
In the research of the project "Modernization Research and Industrialization Development of Tongsaimai Tablets (Pellets)", Tongsaimai Pellets with fingerprint as quality control were established to control the quality of the whole process of medicinal materials-decoction pieces-preparations. The research method has a demonstration role in the overall quality control of the preparation process of traditional Chinese medicine compound preparations.
(D) Research and development of new Chinese medicine
During his tenure as the director of the Engineering Technology Research Center for Quality Control of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Jiangsu Province, Professor Cai presided over the research and development of nine new drugs, including Naoluoqing Injection (for the treatment of hemorrhagic stroke), Sangxing Zhike Granule (for the treatment of acute and chronic bronchitis), Yining Capsule (for the treatment of chloasma), Gutianquan Capsule (for the treatment of urinary incontinence) and Guan Shu Capsule (for the treatment of angina pectoris of coronary heart disease), of which seven were approved for clinical research. The national "863" project, which took the initiative to let its in-service doctoral students be the first host, allocated 7 million yuan in contract funds.
(E) Chinese medicine Industry-University-Research combined with innovation and entrepreneurship has achieved remarkable results.
Professor Cai invested and established Nanjing Haichang Traditional Chinese Medicine Group Co., Ltd. in Nanjing Pukou High-tech Development Zone with a total registered capital of 1 100 million yuan, which is the result of more than 30 years' painstaking research (the domestic authoritative organization estimated it at 565,438+250,000 yuan). Now it has become a Industry-University-Research entity focusing on the research and development of Chinese herbal pieces and Chinese patent medicines, with advanced instruments and equipment at home and abroad such as HPLC-DAD(ELSD), LC/MS, GC and ICP. It owns Nanjing Haiyuan Chinese Herbal Pieces Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Haisheng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Haishan Pharmaceutical Equipment Co., Ltd. ..
At present, Professor Cai is fighting day and night in the front line of scientific research, teaching and management, and is striving to practice the ever-growing cause of Industry-University-Research that he has been pursuing.
