The Historical Evolution of Hainan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.

Haigang, formerly known as Hainan Iron Mine (also known as Shilu Iron Mine), is located in Shilu Town, Changjiang Li Autonomous County, southwest of Hainan Province, with an area of 60 square kilometers, which is 0/92 kilometers away from Haikou, the capital of Hainan Province, in the north and 52 kilometers away from Basuo Port of Dongfang City in the west. Hainan iron mine was originally composed of Shilu iron mine and Tiandu iron mine. 1939 After Japan invaded Hainan in February, it plundered the iron ore in Hainan. From 1939 to 1945, * * * transported 3,382,600 tons of ore. From 1945 to the liberation of Hainan, the Kuomintang collected and transported 578,400 tons of ore from Tiandu Iron Mine. After the liberation of Hainan, Tiandu Iron Mine was re-mined at 1953 and fully mined at 1960. Shilu Iron Mine resumed production on July 1957.
