Is the statement that "the south chooses Sinopec and the north chooses PetroChina" correct?

1. "South Sinopec, North PetroChina"

Why is there such a statement? The full name of PetroChina is China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group Corporation. PetroChina can be said to be the most qualified fuel processing plant in China. Its predecessor was the Ministry of Petroleum Industry of China, and the early major oil exploration companies were its subsidiaries.

China's oil fields are mainly in the north, such as Daqing, Liaohe and Karamay. Due to geographical reasons, all refineries in the north extract crude oil from China North Oilfield, and almost all crude oil sources of PetroChina come from China. Therefore, PetroChina is better at upstream efforts in the exploration and development of crude oil and natural gas.

The full name of Sinopec is Sinopec Group, and the site of Sinopec is mainly in the southern region. Because there are few oil fields in the south, Sinopec's crude oil source is basically imported, most of which is in the Middle East. There is no need for Sinopec to do too much research on crude oil exploration. Sinopec will focus more on the middle reaches of refining and chemical industry.

From 65438 to 0988, the State Council reorganized and integrated the upper, middle and lower reaches of PetroChina and Sinopec: the two major oil companies divided the north and south with the Great Wall as the boundary, forming a parallel competition pattern between the two groups, which is also the reason why it is widely rumored that petrochemicals are selected in the south and oil is selected in the north. Later, the opposition between PetroChina and Sinopec was gradually broken. At present, there is mutual penetration in downstream sales business. You can see many gas stations of PetroChina in the south and Sinopec in the north. The impression of South PetroChina and North Sinopec has gradually faded.

Second, "Sinopec is more resistant to burning than PetroChina"

Many car owners have heard that Sinopec's oil is more resistant to burning than PetroChina's. Similarly, if you fill a tank of oil, you will always feel that the oil added at Sinopec will go further. Is that so? There are three important keywords in gasoline attributes: density, calorific value and volatility. Among them, the calorific value determines the proportion of the same volume of gasoline converted into internal energy, while the density determines the quality of the injected same volume of gasoline.

_

Although the refining methods of China Petrochemical Company and China Petroleum Company are basically the same, and both meet the national standards after processing, the difference in raw materials and additives between them makes the oil density of China Petrochemical Company slightly higher than that of China Petroleum Company.

Before the implementation of the national V emission standard, the density of PetroChina was 0.72-0.73, and that of Sinopec was 0.75-0.77. That is to say, with the same volume of gasoline, the quality of Sinopec's gasoline is higher than that of PetroChina, that is, the gasoline content is higher, which is why everyone thinks that Sinopec's gasoline is more resistant to burning than PetroChina's.

However, in recent years, with the implementation of national V and national VI emission standards, the gap between the two countries in gasoline density has further narrowed. Moreover, Sinopec and PetroChina have oil swap agreements. In many places, the oil depots of Sinopec and PetroChina export oil to each other. Not all cities have oil depots, so there is almost no difference between PetroChina and Sinopec in the same area.

Some old drivers may find that when actually using the car, they can drive a few miles more in Sinopec than in PetroChina, but please note that different road conditions and different driving habits are also decisive factors for fuel consumption! In addition, there may be differences between different batches of oil products. If you are really obsessed with oil products, it is recommended to refuel at the same gas station for a long time, because the oil products of gas stations in different regions will change slightly due to actual production and operation, but this has little impact.

Third, "PetroChina has made big concessions, so its oil products are poor."

Sinopec and PetroChina's gas stations often have some promotional activities, but many friends find that PetroChina's preferential strength is often greater than Sinopec's, which also makes everyone think that PetroChina's oil products may not be as good as Sinopec's, but this is not the case.

_ PetroChina and Sinopec are in a relatively advantageous position in upstream exploration and exploitation and midstream refining, but the competition in downstream sales is still very strong. In addition to these two barrels of oil, there are China CNOOC, Sinochem Oil and some private gas stations on the market. Although the oil price is uniformly set by the National Development and Reform Commission, the geographical location in actual operation and the number of surrounding gas stations (competitive environment) are the main factors that determine the price, that is, the relationship between supply and demand. Gas stations will make different marketing adjustments according to different regions. Therefore, it is normal for PetroChina and Sinopec to have some direct activities.

Why does PetroChina seem to be more preferential than Sinopec? First of all, Sinopec's crude oil is mainly purchased from abroad, while PetroChina is self-produced. From the source, the cost of Sinopec is higher than that of PetroChina, and the cost of Sinopec in the refining process is also high, which leads to the high ex-factory price of Sinopec. Therefore, it seems that the preferential strength of PetroChina is often slightly greater than that of Sinopec, but this phenomenon is not universal and has nothing to do with oil products.
