In order to adapt to the development of the world ship repair industry and provide customers with more comprehensive and better services, China Merchants Group has formulated the development strategy of making the ship repair industry bigger and stronger, and developed and built the ship repair base of Weizhou Island in Shenzhen based on the Youlian Shipyard in Shekou. The ship repair base is located in the waters of the Pearl River Estuary, with a total area of about 700,000 square meters and a dock coastline of 3,400 meters. In addition to the original two floating docks, a new dry dock of more than 300,000 tons and 300,000 tons has been built. The target ship types of dry docks above 300,000 tons are ULCC and VLCC for repair; Transformation of FPSO and FSO; Maintenance and transformation of drilling platform, etc. The 300,000-ton dry dock aims at the repair and transformation of large oil tankers, LNG, cruise ships, next-generation container ships with 12000 cases and bulk carriers with the Cape of Good Hope.
