Located 800 meters north of Yangguan site, Yangguan Museum is a comprehensive museum integrating natural history, tourism, site protection and research. The whole museum covers an area of 654.38 million square meters. All the buildings are imitative of those of the Han Dynasty, simple and elegant, antique and harmonious with the surrounding beacon towers and the desert Gobi.
According to China's historical records, Yangguan was built more than 2,000 years ago during the period of Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty, located 70 kilometers southwest of Dunhuang City, echoing the Yumenguan Gate from north to south, and became an important pass and passage on the Silk Road. After the Tang Dynasty, with the prosperity of the Maritime Silk Road, Yangguan was abandoned, gradually deserted and disappeared. Today, only the beacon tower of Dundunshan, the "eyes and ears of sunshine", hangs alone in the desert Gobi.
In order to protect Yangguan and let people know more about the history and culture of Yangguan, in 2000, due to the advocacy and investment of Dunhuang Painting and Calligraphy Institute, a comprehensive museum with the purpose of "excavating ancient culture and building new culture" was built not far from Yangguan site. Three years later, on the morning of August 28th, 2003, the Yangguan Museum, built in Dunhuang City, Gansu Province, opened to welcome guests.
There is a museum in Dunhuang (rejuvenating the country through science and education)
Yang Guang Nie Qing Chuan
In the desert where yellow sand is rolling, sit in ancient chariots and watch ancient training; Then, wearing armor, riding along Yangguan Avenue; Send troops, handle customs clearance documents and hold customs clearance ceremonies. ...
This is not ancient times 1000 years ago, nor is it watching movies. When you come to Dunhuang Yangguan Museum, every visitor can experience this thrilling scene personally.
Chitose people still have the same style.
This museum was built in the Yangguan of Wang Wei's poem "Advise the monarch to drink more, and go out to Yangguan for no reason".
Located 70 kilometers southwest of Dunhuang, it was founded in the period of "four counties, according to two customs" of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty, with a history of 2000 years. Yangguan was once the gateway to the western regions and the throat of the Silk Road. Successive dynasties fought here, and monks and tourists kept coming. The literati once pointed out the mountains and rivers here, and Yangguan became famous for it.
In recent years, there are more and more tourists visiting Yangguan. However, due to historical changes and the invasion of sandstorms, the former Yangguan Guancheng is no longer majestic, only the beacon tower called "Yangguan Eyes and Eyes" on Dundun Mountain is preserved, which inevitably makes people feel that "Yangguan cannot be seen". In order to make this "chitose" shine again, Dunhuang Painting and Calligraphy Institute actively raised funds, which lasted for three years and five months. The trial operation began on April 16, 2003 to receive tourists.
The difference between Yangguan Museum and traditional museum is that visitors can not only feel the history of Yangguan through physical display; You can also go to the city to overlook, watch the fire and smoke, ride a horse and shoot training, and pass a certificate ... At the border of "the desert is lonely and the long river falls into the yen", you can feel the historical picture far away from the reinforced concrete city.
Such a large-scale museum with complex engineering design did not cost the country a penny. It is a private museum invested by Dunhuang Painting and Calligraphy Institute. What is the secret?
Dunhuang-you can not only see it, but also take it away.
Ji Yongyuan, the project sponsor of Yangguan Museum, explained the reason: Dunhuang was still a small border county with inconvenient transportation, blocked information and backward economy in the late 1970s, because people's ideas were outdated and rich cultural relics could not serve people. In order to make up for this contrast between history and reality, Dunhuang Painting and Calligraphy Institute has explored a new way of combining style with writing, which is a rolling development model that does not depend on state funding, but is supported by corporate profits.
The so-called "supplementing articles with articles" is to design tourist souvenirs with Dunhuang characteristics by using Dunhuang's history and culture, murals and sculpture art. Such as: silk carpets, dyed paintings, wood carvings and jade carvings, pottery, etc. Visitors can not only visit Dunhuang, but also buy Dunhuang's characteristic homes. After years of practice, Mingsha Painting and Calligraphy Society grew up. Since its establishment, it has created a total of 1. 1.00 million pieces, most of which have been collected by Chinese and foreign institutions and individuals, and the sales of calligraphy and painting have reached 1.00 million yuan. Moreover, Dunhuang Painting and Calligraphy Institute has also set foot in real estate, architecture, tourism services and other fields, and established Dunhuang Cultural Industry Development Co., Ltd., Dunhuang Art Travel Agency and Dunhuang Huiyuan Industrial Co., Ltd., from 1983, with a loan of 10000 yuan at the time of establishment and 3 employees. Up to now, it has 4 companies with more than 20 employees and assets of 20.
This not only meets the needs of tourists, but also brings considerable economic benefits to Dunhuang Painting and Calligraphy Institute, thus paving the way for the further development of culture. This is also the foundation of the birth of Yangguan Museum.
When you are rich, don't forget your relatives.
Dunhuang Painting and Calligraphy Institute has not forgotten its hometown and fellow villagers while promoting culture and art and strengthening its economic strength. They have devoted their love to social welfare undertakings in Dunhuang for many times, and successively donated 1.2 million yuan to Zhongqu Primary School, Dunhuang Art Troupe, Dunhuang Park and Dunhuang No.3 Middle School.
Talent is the foundation of culture, culture is the driving force of economy, and economy further promotes the cultivation of talents. Dunhuang, a city run by culture, is constantly developing in such a virtuous circle.
