1, it is urgent to speed up the recovery of power batteries.
When the retired batteries enter the recycling process, metal elements such as nickel, cobalt and manganese will be extracted and processed into positive electrode materials for battery production, and then made into power batteries, so as to realize the effective recycling of resources. At present, the recovery rate of cobalt and nickel in retired power batteries can reach above 98.5%, and the recycling value of power batteries is great.
With the increasing number of new energy vehicles and the increasing installed capacity of power batteries, China will face the gradual retirement of large-scale power batteries. If these retired batteries are not handled properly, they will bring potential safety hazards such as electric shock, explosion and corrosion, which will pose a great threat to the ecological environment and personal health.
In addition, if the metals such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese and rare earth contained in the retired power battery cannot be fully recovered, it will also waste resources greatly. China urgently needs to speed up the recycling of power batteries.
According to the data released by China Automotive Technology and Research Center, the cumulative decommissioning amount of power batteries in China is about 200,000 tons in 2020 and 780,000 tons in 2025.
2. Policies to promote the construction of power battery recycling system.
Faced with the huge amount of scrapped power batteries, China has repeatedly issued policies related to the recycling of power batteries, which has been highly valued by the state. The New Energy Automobile Industry Development Plan (202 1-2035) from June, 5438 to October, 2020 proposed to improve the recycling system of power batteries, cascade utilization and recycling, and encourage * * * to build recycling channels for * * *. In "20021Government Work Report", it is also mentioned to speed up the construction of power battery recycling system.
On July 7th, 20021,the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan of Circular Economy was officially released, and it was proposed that China would vigorously develop circular economy during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, in which the recycling of waste power batteries was one of the six key actions.
3. There are still many problems in the power battery recycling industry.
Although China has issued a series of policies in recent years, and the signals supporting battery recycling are clearly released step by step, there are still many problems in China's power battery recycling industry, such as unfair competition in the industry, difficulties in collecting scrapped power batteries, safety problems in cascade utilization, and battery recycling technology needs to be improved. Therefore, in the face of a large number of retired batteries in the future, China's power battery recycling system still needs to be improved.
4. The waste power battery recycling industry will accelerate its development.
This Tenth Five-Year Plan for the Development of Circular Economy proposes to strengthen the construction of traceability management platform for power batteries of new energy vehicles and improve the traceability management system for power batteries recovery of new energy vehicles; Promote the standardized cascade utilization of power batteries, improve the technical level of residual energy detection, residual value evaluation, reorganization and utilization, safety management, and strengthen the popularization and application of advanced technologies and equipment for recycling and cascade utilization of waste power batteries.
It is believed that under the impetus of a series of policies such as the Tenth Five-Year Plan, during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, China's power battery recycling system will be gradually improved, and the waste power battery recycling industry will accelerate its development.
