Chishui Cave —— The First Wine Cave in China
Chishui Cave, also known as Ganlong Cave, is located on the Chishui River in Guizhou. It was formed in Jurassic period and divided into upper hole, middle hole and lower hole. These three caves are naturally connected. The cave area is vast, with stalactite forest at the top, rich surface soil, constant temperature in all seasons, and natural light transmission area of 30%. Brewing history is over 200 years. Tested by China Liquor Evaluation Expert Group, there are a large number of microbial populations in the cave, and the temperature and humidity are very suitable for liquor brewing and storage. Chishui Cave was unanimously evaluated as an excellent ecological cave for wine-making and cellar-keeping, and was listed in the National Records of Jiuguan Renqian. Chishui Cave, with the largest natural cave liquor storage base, ranks first in Guinness World and has become a rare historical heritage of Chinese wine culture. Known as "the first wine cave in China" by wine experts, it is also called "Tianjiao" or "the king in the cellar".
