As a part of the national "five vertical and seven horizontal" trunk line Guangkun Expressway, Guangxi Nanning (Tanluo)-Baise Expressway has been opened for two years, and the daily average traffic volume currently exceeds 1 10,000 vehicles. It is understood that in June 2009, the total traffic volume of Nanning (Tanluo)-Baise Expressway was 4,729,359 vehicles. Compared with the same period last year, the daily average traffic volume was1.41.65. Tang, general manager of Guangxi Tanbai Expressway Co., Ltd. said that compared with other expressways in Guangxi, Tanbai Expressway has a higher proportion of vehicles and trucks, and most of the vehicles lead to coastal ports in Guangxi and Macao, Hong Kong and Macao in Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces. The top three toll stations of Tanbai Expressway are Baise East Toll Station, Zhou Zhou Toll Station, Pingguo Toll Station and toll stations with daily average traffic exceeding 2,000 vehicles. According to "Guangxi Expressway Network Planning (2006 ~ 2020)", in recent years, the expressway construction in Guangxi has made great progress, and the highways in the region have formed a highway network with "two horizontal and two vertical" expressways and "five horizontal and three vertical" eight national highways as the main trunk.
With the establishment of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, the expansion of Pan-Pearl River Delta regional cooperation and the overall diplomatic strategy of the country, it is required that the construction of expressway network in Guangxi should further improve the construction of entry and exit passages and accelerate the construction of modern comprehensive transportation system in Guangxi. Guangxi Tanbai Expressway is in line with the development direction of Guangxi Expressway, which is of great significance for building a large channel to the sea, improving the investment environment in Guangxi, especially in Baise revolutionary old area, speeding up the construction of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and creating a new highland for international regional cooperation and coastal development in China.
