How many Fortune 500 companies are there in the United States?
Fortune magazine announced that only 153 American companies were on the Fortune Global 500 this year, the lowest level in more than a decade. Wal-Mart continues to rank first in the latest Fortune Global 500 ranking, with revenue growth of nearly 8%, and remains the only retail enterprise in the top ten. After Wal-Mart, ExxonMobil (USA) ranks second. Third place-Royal Dutch Shell (Netherlands); Fourth place-BP (UK); Fifth place-Toyota Motor Corporation (Japan); Sixth place-Chevron Corporation (USA); Seventh place-ING (Netherlands); Eighth place-Total Company (France); Ninth place-General Motors Corporation (USA); Tenth place-ConocoPhillips (USA).
