Born in poverty

Wu Yu is a bitter child in Pingjiang mountain area of Yueyang, Hunan Province. In the hilly countryside, Wu Yu described the world and dreams in his heart countless times. Art has become his lifelong pursuit.

From 65438 to 0999, I graduated from an art secondary school in Yueyang and came to Beijing alone. At that time, he had only one goal in mind, that is, to be admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

Life never stops fighting.

Wu Yu, who first arrived in Beijing, was very excited because he finally came to this cultural shrine in his heart. This is his dream, guiding his direction. However, the dream is beautiful, but the reality of life is cruel.

Despite repeated austerity, Wu Yu still took four or five hundred yuan with him, and without financial resources, his wandering life in the north soon got into trouble. Many colleagues are still making flowers in the greenhouse. After 99 years, Wu Yu is already busy for survival.

Wu Yu has always been aiming at being admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the experience of three years, three trials and three defeats is definitely a big blow to a young man who has just entered the society for a long time.

In this case of repeated setbacks, Wu Yu did not recover, but cheered up and used his spare time to do odd jobs in painting companies for life and dreams.

But copying other people's works is not Wu Yu's specialty. His artistic spirit is to create vital works, not to copy them. In Wu dialect's view, commodity paintings like photos can only be photos, and their artistic language is pale. In the past three years, Wu Yu has only sold one painting.

The embarrassment and pressure of life constantly challenge this young man who pursues art.

The experience of failure did not change Wu Yu's dream of pursuing art.

Just as Wu Yu struggled to survive, he had an opportunity to work in a home decoration company. Just 600 yuan's salary and lunch every month, let Wu Yu can't believe this is true, this kind of good thing will happen to him.

In this way, Wu Yu mistakenly entered this home improvement company and became a designer. But at this time, Wu Yu encountered a bigger problem. At that time, the designers had basically completed the design through computer operation, and Wu Yu didn't understand computers at all, let alone using three-dimensional design software. In desperation, he can only draw hand drawing. But I didn't expect customers to prefer the hand-drawn drawings of Wu language design.

In the second month, Wu Yu earned a record 4000 yuan. A year later, Wu Yu became the signing king of this decoration company. At that time, Wu Yu described this feeling as "making a fortune".

Real life and dreams, for this young man who is only 20 years old, have just begun.

Although home decoration can make money, it is not the artistic pursuit of Wu Yu. His dream is not confined to a fixed space. He wants to go to a wider field and do his own artistic design.

At this time, Wu Yu has had the energy to personally experience the artistic atmosphere and cultural heritage of Beijing. By chance, he visited the science and technology fair in Beijing.

During this visit, Wu Yu seemed to break into a brand-new dream world, and every detail deeply attracted Wu Yu's attention. He became interested in this novel exhibition means, materials and methods. Thoughts met and collided at that moment, and the door of art he had been looking for and pursuing finally opened.

2003 is a crucial year for China and a fateful year for Wu Yu. With the arrival of SARS, many exhibition companies and decoration companies closed down one after another, but Wu Yu felt that the time was ripe to let go.

I use the booth as a stage.

The 22-year-old Wu Yu, on the broad stage of the exhibition industry, shoulders a banner born for art and gives full play to her talents and unlimited potential.

Since ancient times, heroes have produced teenagers. Wu Yu took his creative team to undertake the German exhibition of Sany Heavy Industry. As far as this exhibition is concerned, the employees of Sany Company attach great importance to it from the top to the grass-roots level, mainly hoping to reflect the image of Sany and the image of China construction machinery through this exhibition, so Sany Company is very strict in choosing partners. Among all the applicants, Wu Yu is the youngest. At the beginning of bidding, Sany Company did not turn Xidan into a very competitive exhibition company.

In Wu Yu's design scheme, it is proposed to spread the white marble stone in China on at least half of the exhibition area of more than 3,000 square meters. The strong Chinese style and calm industrial temperament are vividly reflected in the whole scheme of Wu Yu. Wu Yu has been pursuing a feeling-it can be a beam of light, a color, or even a teacup. It does not need deliberate description, but lies in the spiritual communication that can be understood immediately in it.

Wu Yu's planning and design of the exhibition hall for this German exhibition deeply touched Sany Heavy Industry. It can be said that this is not only a successful work, but also a very sincere design. Wu Yu's plan was finally approved by Sany Heavy Industry and won the bid.

Shortly before the opening of the exhibition, Wu Yu found that he had mistaken the exhibitors' flags. Wu Yu, who is in Germany, is very anxious. This German exhibition is the most important work of Sany Heavy Industry this year. There can be no mistakes, and the whole perfect design can't be discounted because of this detail. What shall we do? There is only one way. Tear it down and do it again. German workers are very expensive, 80 euros an hour. Wu Yu's economic ability is limited and he can't afford the expensive wages of German workers. As a last resort, he had to take a group of male colleagues to battle in person, stay up late and work hard, and finally completed the flag before the opening of the exhibition three days later.

At the end of the exhibition, the accident happened again. Due to the lack of experience in overseas exhibitions, especially in developed countries, Wu Yu encountered another problem at the end of the exhibition in Germany. The booths set up in Germany are temporary, and it takes a lot of money to dispose of all kinds of garbage when the exhibition is cancelled. In this regard, Wu Yu is not ready yet. At that time, the charging standard was 360 euros, that is, 3,600 yuan a ton, and dozens of tons of garbage were ten times more than the estimated five or six tons at that time. This trip to Germany turned into a loss-making business, which caused more losses.

But just as the booth was about to be demolished, many Germans took a fancy to the white marble stone shipped from China. , have put forward purchase requirements. Because the booth of Sany Heavy Industry is novel in design, practical in function and easy to disassemble. Such a performance made a German boss even decide to buy the entire exhibition hall on the second floor as his studio with 80,000 euros.

The brand manager of Sany Company praised BMW Munich, Germany as the most successful exhibition of Sany at home and abroad over the years.

Perhaps this year is the foundation year in the history of Wu Yu's personal entrepreneurship, and it is also the year for Xidian Exhibition Company to pay homage today.

In the years of doing exhibitions, Wu Yu has always adhered to an idea that creativity and quality are indispensable. In Wu Yu's own words, "I don't think we can do this kind of operation, because if we use this poor material, it will easily lead to problems." Although he has been immersed in Beijing for many years, Wu Yu always adheres to the style of honesty and pursues the true meaning of art with a unique attitude and persistent belief.

In 2008, Sany Heavy Industry decided to attend an exhibition in Las Vegas, USA. Wu dialect is certainly the best candidate for the exhibition. However, due to the impact of the US subprime mortgage crisis, Sany Heavy Industry reduced the exhibition budget to 2 million in order to save money. Just when Wu Yu and Sany Heavy Industry negotiated the price, a home improvement company was prepared to bid for the exhibition at a price of more than one million. This makes Wu Yu particularly sad about the industry he is engaged in, but he is helpless. Quality can't be measured by price, which is just difficult to do in the rapidly developing and poorly managed industry of exhibition.

When Wu Yu was confused, a customer asked Wu Yu's company to build a memorial hall. The address is Lankao, a poverty-stricken county in Henan Province. It took a short time and didn't make much money. Wu Yu refused after considering it. And customers have come to see the house many times, hoping that Wu Yu can take over this project. It turns out that this project is the Jiao Memorial Hall.

It is this experience that makes Wu Yu stand at another starting point. Wu Yu calibrated his course again. Under the gloom of the economic crisis, he is going to slowly withdraw from those temporary exhibitions and focus more on those permanent exhibitions. Museums are a good market.

Facts have proved his choice. From 2003 to 2009, Wu Yu's exhibition company developed rapidly and jumped to the leading position in the exhibition industry within a few years. In 2009, Wu Yu turned his attention to a broader global market.

"My ideal now is that, for example, I want to become the largest company in this industry within three years, and the brand has the greatest influence." Wu Yu said this in an interview with CCTV. Compared with developed countries, the proportion of museums in China is quite different. Being a museum requires a high level of design and cultural knowledge, which is a challenge for Wu Yu and his company, but it is also a rare opportunity.

Wu Yu, 28, is not a successful painter. He was admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts for three years and failed repeatedly. He only sold one painting when he drifted north in Beijing, and earned 400 yuan. But in just five or six years, he jumped from the poverty line to an entrepreneur and multi-millionaire with an annual turnover of nearly 100 million yuan. Because he knows exactly what he is suitable for and what suits him best at the moment.
