At present, the registered capital is 33 million US dollars, which is the only production base of Philips brand mobile phones in the world.
On February 13, 2007, Philips Electronics officially announced that it had signed a final agreement with China Electronic Information Industry Group (CEC) a few days ago, and Philips transferred its current mobile phone business to CEC. CEC will take over Philips' mobile phone business, which has sales of about 320 million euros in 2006 and about 240 employees, mainly in Asia-Pacific and Eastern Europe.
According to the terms of the agreement, the Philips ultra-long standby sub-brand Xenium will be transferred to CEC. CEC will obtain the exclusive authorization of Philips brand in the next five years, and can sell Philips brand mobile phones in the global market. Earlier, on February 12 this year, Philips announced that it had signed a final agreement with China Electronics to transfer the company's remaining mobile phone business to China Electronics.
On the evening of August 9th, China Electronics Group announced that it had signed a trademark licensing agreement with Philips, and Philips agreed to grant some trademarks to mobile phones produced by Shenzhen Sanfei Company, a subsidiary of China Electronics. Sanfei also signed an intellectual property agreement with Philips, and Philips transferred the patents, software and other intellectual property rights involved in the production and sale of Philips brand mobile phones to Sanfei. The Trademark and Intellectual Property Transfer Agreement will be terminated on March 3, 20 12.
The announcement shows that the trademark license fee paid by Sangfei is decreasing year by year. The more mobile phones with Philips trademarks are sold, the less the trademark licensing fee for each mobile phone. From August 3, 2007 to March 2008, the trademark license fee was 3 million euros, from March 3, 2008 to March 3, 2009, the trademark license fee was 7 million euros, and there was no minimum trademark license fee in other years.
